Hotel & Shop Plus Shenzhen to Debut in October 2026, Positioning Greater Bay Area as Global Hospitality Hub

Hotel & Shop Plus Shenzhen, part of the Connexion Shenzhen series organized by Sinoexpo Informa Markets, will take place from October 13–15, 2026, at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center (Hall 12). Spanning 200,000 square meters and hosting over 2,000 exhibitors, the event is set to become the region’s premier platform for the hotel and commercial space supply chain.

Capitalizing on Greater Bay Area Momentum

The Greater Bay Area (GBA) is currently experiencing a significant inflection point in high-quality development. In the first half of 2026, inbound foreign visitor arrivals to China reached 22.914 million, marking a 20.4% year-on-year increase, with 77.7% of foreign travelers benefiting from visa-free entry policies. Shenzhen remains one of the top inbound destinations, driving accelerating demand for premium international accommodation.

Cross-border connectivity continues to strengthen the region’s appeal. The Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link enables travel between Hong Kong West Kowloon and Shenzhen in as little as 14 minutes, fostering a mature “one trip, multiple stops” tourism model that provides hotels with a stable and growing customer base.

The upcoming APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting in Shenzhen in 2026 is expected to further intensify Asia-Pacific business exchange, creating concentrated demand for international business travel infrastructure and hotel experience upgrades.

Industry at a Turning Point

The hospitality sector is transitioning from scale-driven expansion to value-oriented growth. To capture the GBA opportunity and break through growth bottlenecks, industry players must develop three core capabilities:

  1. Experience Premiumization — Moving beyond hardware accumulation to deliver localized experiences and emotional connections that justify higher price points.
  2. AI-Driven Cost Efficiency — Leveraging digital technology across operations, from AI-powered dynamic revenue management to intelligent services, to restructure efficiency amid rising labor costs.
  3. Diversified Revenue Streams — Moving beyond single-room-rate models by integrating wellness, cultural creativity, and experiential offerings to build compound business systems and escape homogeneous competition.

Comprehensive Industry Coverage

The Expo will feature a full spectrum of product categories, including hotel supplies, linens and uniforms, building and decorative materials, smart hotel solutions, lighting, stone and new materials, hotel franchising, hospitality and commercial furniture, commercial display, and cleaning and maintenance services. The event provides a one-stop procurement and resource-matching platform covering the entire chain from spatial design and construction to operations management.

Leveraging Shenzhen’s strength in technology innovation, the Expo will showcase many new products tailored to South China’s business travel and coastal resort markets, with precise matchmaking for high-end star hotels, chain brands, resort properties, and cultural tourism investors across Guangdong and Hong Kong.
