In 2025, Thailand’s tourist arrivals are expected to increase from 35.6 million to 40 million, while international visitors will increase from 185 million to 195 million. Chiang Mai, Thailand was named the best city to visit in 2025 by Lonely Planet, highlighting Thailand’s endless appeal as a tourist destination. In addition, One Bangkok’s newest world-class landmark is expected to be the center of the city with its 750 leading Thai and international brands and more than 250 renowned restaurants from around the world.
According to latest news, Thailand’s Cabinet meeting approved the Tourism Development Plan for 2023 to 2027, which aims to increase tourism to 25% of Thailand’s GDP. In 2024, there were approximately 15,708 hotels and resorts in Thailand; the hospitality industry is expected to generate revenue of USD 18.96 billion by 2028, growing at a CAGR of 27.24% during the forecast period. In addition, from the first quarter to the fourth quarter of 2024, 374 new restaurants are expected to open with a total equity of approximately THB 716.75 million.
